Q. HOW DO I TAKE ULTRAGEN?
Ultragen is designed to be absorbed quickly. For maximum recovery, mix Ultragen with water and consume immediately after exercise. Mixing Ultragen with anything besides water and/or consuming other foods during the first thirty minutes after exercise will slow down absorption. Fifteen to thirty minutes after using Ultragen you should drink and/or eat something else.

Q: WHAT IS THE 30-MINUTE GLYCOGEN WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY?
A: Research has shown that there is a critical thirty-minute glycogen window (called the “window of opportunity”) immediately following exercise when insulin sensitivity is at its highest and exhausted muscles essentially open the door to nutrients. In order to maximize this opportunity it is critical to use fast sugars like dextrose which help shuttle nutrients into the cell. It is equally important to make sure all ingredients are absorbed quickly.
INGREDIENTS: Sugars (dextrose), protein (whey protein isolate, milk protein isolate, hydrolyzed whey protein), vitamin blend (beta-carotene, cholecalciferol, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, niacinimide, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, cyanocobalamin, biotin, pantothenic acid), amino acid blend (glutamine, leucine, iso- leucine, valine), electrolyte blend (calcium, chloride, sodium, magnesium, potassium), natural flavours, natural colours.

Serving Size – 1 scoop (45 g) made up to 350 mL

Ultragen isn't a miracle drink where I instantly feel better, but I can tell my legs recovery faster, and after a shakeout run, I am able to run hard again the next day. I also can definitely see the results a week or two later when doing a similar workout, legs just stay sharper, because it just really helped reap the benefits of the workout from a week before. After using Ultragen for couple of months, I can see the benefits of maintaining healthy protein levels, and I would recommend this to someone who is looking to keep the intensity of their workouts high on a daily basis. I have tried plenty of post-workout drinks during the past few years and I cannot bring myself to even drink most of them. That’s not the case with Ultragen. Tastes great and works even better. The main reason for continuing to use this product is that my legs feel great afterwards. That is key for hard training weeks when I have a couple runs each day. I definitely recommend it! Ultragen has protein and BCAA’s like normal whey protein supplements, but it also has simple carbohydrates to replenish glycogen stores from long taxing workouts. It has antioxidants and electrolytes and cofactors used during the recovery process.
I’ve used Ultragen (tropical punch flavor) both after taxing running workouts and hard weight training sessions and I’ve recovered well from both with the help of Ultragen
Not only that but Ultragen has a Certificate of Analysis stating the ingredients in it so I know there isn’t any hidden ingredients in it. (Posted on 1/13/2014)

Found Ultragen while searching for a post-workout/recovery drink. It’s been amazing in helping me recover from my morning workouts, so I can work out again later in the day and be ready to go the next morning. Love that the research is openly available (so I can do my own research on the contents like Glutamine and the other BCAAs). I’ve tried the Cappuccino and Orange Cream flavors. I have used virtually all brands of recovery drinks and bars over the years, but Ultragen is number one in my book. Just look at the ingredients and nutrition label- no other company can provide you with that blend of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and carbohydrates all in one convenient package. I'm new to running… and never thought about a recovery drink until an ultra runner told me about. The tropical fruit is the best tasting (in my opinion) and I can tell a huge difference with and without it on recovery. Wow. I just ordered my second container of it online, it came in 3 days and saved me again and again. If nothing more, just try… this 50 yr old runner did and i'm majorly hooked on all it does!
